mike blackburn


Engineer, musician and producer originally from Seattle, Washington. Mike grew up playing guitar and was imbued by the local jazz community in Seattle. He went on to study music production and composition at the Evergreen State College in Olympia. In 2004 Mike attended Full Sail Recording School in Orlando, FL. He graduated at the top of his class and was later hired by Jon Phelps (founder of Full Sail) to work as an assistant engineer at Jon's studio, Sonic Temple, in rural California. While at Sonic Temple, Mike was cutting his teeth working under longtime Nashville engineer Martin Woodlee.
After Sonic Temple, Mike moved to Portland in 2008 and helped support Jambox Studio Collective as an in house engineer & tech. Now at Cloud City Sound, Mike is hard at work helping make new records. Since arriving in Portland, Mike has had the good fortune of working free lance for numerous local and national acts.
