A Portland native who spent the better part of the 90's and 2000's making records in the San Francisco Bay Area. While he was there he rose through the ranks of the local recording industry in the traditional avenues. First he attended the recording arts program at California Recording Institute graduating in 1996 and was immediately hired as an instructor at the school after graduation. Then, after an extensive internship with recording legends John Cuniberti and Dan Alexander, he graduated from tea boy to tape op to 1st engineer at San Francisco's famous Coast Recorders. From there he moved to the highly sought after position of house engineer at Sausalito's The Plant studios. His career path then led him to Hyde Street Studios where he resurrected and returned to it's former glory the legendary Hyde Street Studio C. For the next four years he ran Studio C as the busiest room in San Francisco making records for a wide variety of national and international acts and more or less recording around the clock.

Looking to settle down, Justin returned to Portland in 2008 with his wife Deanna and his daughter Iris. He immediately founded Hawthorne Bridge Recording Co with local engineer/producer Jordan Richter. After a very busy and productive year they both began to long for a larger, more traditional facility to work out of. Their search brought them to kindred spirit Rick McMillen and SuperDigital. The combination was an easy fit. After a little bit of sonic tweaking and a massive gear merger he was right at home turning knobs and pushing faders in the pursuit of great sound.
